Telehealth: Do your Physio and Clinical Pilates sessions online.

“Life doesn’t always let you get in to the Studio.  Whether you’re stuck at the North Pole, or just can’t leave the house, you can do a fully-customized one-on-one programme with only a webcam and basic household items.”

Body in Common has offered Traditional Physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates in the studio since its inception.

But there are also so many people who can’t leave their homes or get to a Physio to work on their Chronic aches and pains.

As a result, we now provide Telehealth services: private, one-on-one sessions online, where we can do body assessments, and teach you how to fix your body issues following the same high-quality processes that we use in the Studio.

A client performs their Clinical Pilates programme remotely, using telehealth.

Types of Clients that use Telehealth

Do any of these people sound like you?

Too Far From Quality Services

Many clients simply live too far away to get high-quality, international-level assessments and help.  Telehealth Physio gives you a new option to stay healthy.

Not Enough Time in the Day

Commuting home from work already takes an hour.  Doing a side-trip is just too hard.

Can’t Get Baby-Sitters

Many of our clients struggle to get enough time away from the kids.  Doing Telehealth at home provides a great option for young Mums and Dads.

Immunocompromised

If you’re currently undergoing various cancer treatments, or have a damaged immune system, Telehealth can provide a safer avenue to work on your body issues.

While we have a lot of equipment in our studio, we can do almost everything at home using a combination of: some dumbbells or cans; a long towel; and a chair.

What Can We Treat Using Telehealth?

How to do a Telehealth Session

Step 1 – Contact Us First

The first step of any Telehealth Physio or Clinical Pilates session is to contact us via chat or email so that we can understand your condition.  We have a number of highly-qualified Physios, and each one has a different specialism.  By knowing what you’re after, we can direct you straight to the best person for the job.

Once we know the condition, we’ll book in your session into the system.  You can pay online using our secure online payment partner.  You’ll get a confirmation email with instructions on how to join the session.

Step 2 – Prepare for the Appointment

You’ll need:

  • A Phone, ipad or Android  Tablet, or a Computer with a Webcam.  (Bigger screens are better)
  • About 2m x 3m of open space.
  • A mat, rug, or soft floor.  (Some Cushions will work)

Depending on your condition, we may also use:

  • Some dumbbells, cans, or bottles.
  • A long towel, or stretchy bands if you have them.
  • A chair or other houshold items.

Step 3 – Log In!

Follow the steps in your confirmation email, and you’re good to go.

What Do We do in the Session?

Session 1 - Assessment

1 on 1 Assessment and Initial Exercises

Your first step is a detailed 1 on 1 consultation.

Your body is unique, and it deserves a unique assessment and solution.

We'll talk through your condition, and do a variety of visual tests to make a good diagnosis

Sessions 2-6 - Tailored Programme

Tailored Pilates Programme

We design a 1 on 1 programme that fixes the cause of your problem, so that you can get back in control of your body.

We teach you this programme over 5 more sessions (on average).

After Session 6 - Re-assess

Re-assess Your Goals

Once we fix the underlying cause, it's time to reassess your goals. Often, you'll have new goals, or perhaps you're ready for maintenance mode.

When Fixed - Continue Maintenance

Switch into 'Maintenance Mode'

Once your body is under control and your issues are resolved, it's important to continue your exercise programme in 'maintenance mode', to keep your body functioning well.

Clinical Pilates is a scientifically proven method of improving back pain, knee pain, and other chronic issues, as well as preparing the body for everything life has to throw at it (such as pre-natal preparation, olympic athlete training, and body maintenance).

The stages of the Clinical Pilates Process are:

The First Session (55 Minutes):

The first step is to do your first online session with Clinical Pilates Physiotherapists.  They will interview, assess, and determine exactly what is going on, and how to get from here to where we need to be!

(This is not a ‘free consultation’.  This is a real, in-depth session).

Five More Private Sessions to complete the ‘First 6’:

Statistics show that most people need around 6 sessions to make serious, life-affecting changes to their bodies.  We’re aiming for real fixes, not ‘quick fixed’ that don’t last.

After five more Clinical Pilates sessions (for a total of 6), you will already see a clear and measurable improvement in your body.

After 6, Re-assess and Make New Goals, or Maintain.

After achieving real differences in six sessions, it’s time to look at the bigger picture.  What are your goals for the long-term?

Do you want to be in peak condition from now until old age?

The truth of working on your Body is that it’s a life-long process.  Quick fixes have been shown time-and-time-again to not work in the long term.  It’s important to maintain what you’ve got, and address new issues quickly.
