Hi! I’m Andy, one of the founders of Body in Common. When I returned to KL in 2017 to look after my ageing parents, I realized that while there was plenty of health and fitness support for young people, there was practically nothing out there to keep working-adults (and beyond) in good condition, living their best lives!
So in 2018, three people with the same vision started “Body in Common” – a passion project combining our Physiotherapy, Athletics, and Nursing backgrounds to create the safest and most inclusive health and fitness space in KL.
As one of the oldest studios in town, we make it our mission to REALLY look after you – not just provide low-level service. That means that no matter whether You’re in great shape, or ‘creaking in the joints’, You’re going to feel right at home in our community!
I know that You’ll love the extra care and support than comes from our international quality and degree-holding staff. No question is too small, and we’d like to chat and see how we can make your life better. 🙂
We’ve seen all manner of people come to us and say: “oh don’t worry – it’s just something I have to live with”. People worry about whether they can keep playing their favourite sport, or carry their grand-children as they age. But when it comes time to solve these problems, they think there is no answer! We’re surrounded by doctors and companies who think that life-long pills are the answer to body issues, and all too often they forget that we can actually solve these problems.
We have an entire field of study dedicated to doing just that!
It’s called Clinical Pilates, and is run by highly qualified Physiotherapists.
So when we started Body in Common, we were determined to bring our Australian experience and expertise here with us.
Body in Common is a fitness, wellness, Clinical Pilates, and Physiotherapy studio that draws its roots from the highest quality of training available. Our instructors and physios are highly-trained, and focus on each client with fresh eyes: we don’t believe in a ‘cookie cutter’ approach. Whether you’re an expatriate or a local; old or young; male or female; there is a programme that is right for your body and schedule.
Body in Common runs both clinical classes and fitness classes. Fitness classes are for people with that would like to increase their strength, flexibility, and overall fitness, as well as meet new people. The clinical side is focused on working with clients who have specific issues, such as pain, injuries, or health conditions. One size doesn’t fit all, and we work with you to make sure you get the most out of your experience.
If you’ve got a specific issue you need to fix, then our 1on1 programme will help you find your feet, and give you the personal planning and direction you’ve been missing.
Both our clinical and our fitness streams focus on using the scientific Pilates methodology, as taught by APPI – the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. This methodology has exercises for both men and women and focuses on all aspects of the body.
We hope to see you soon in our studio.
